New Orleans Recap

K. Ellis Boutique travel

We had so much fun while in New Orleans!  I highly recommend going with a group or for a fun couples trip.

We stayed at the Omni Royal Crescent Hotel.

The location was good, though previously when I had gone we stayed closer to the French Quater and it was nice and easier to walk to the things we were seeing. However, I liked where we stayed because it was across Canal Street and far enough away that we could sleep and felt super safe.  The hotel staff was SO friendly. They also had the cutest rooftop patio to enjoy your coffee in the mornings.

.

I am a super planner and we had things to do from when we got off the plane! We arrived around 11:0 a.m. I love love to get to a place early on the first day so that we can still have daylight time.

I love the New Orleans people because they are very friendly and informative and their city and where to eat/stay and things to do. I cannot speak highly enough of all the locals!

I highly recommend strolling around Frenchman and Bourbon street during THE DAY. You can see the amazing architecture and the atmosphere is so fun. You will also see individuals performing in the streets, which is pretty fun!

Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop. Deemed allegedly the oldest bar in America!

<Places we ate that were AMAZING not in any order>

1.Tujague

2. Red Fish

3. The Rum House on Magazine Street <MUST VISIT MAGAZINE STREET>

Try the Dark & Stormy and mango guacamole  (to die for)

4. Arnaud's (Also famous and so GOOD)

5. Cafe' Amelie <probably my favorite atmosphere>
We sat in their courtyard and it was so fun!

6. Must try PJ's Coffee

7. Sucre' of course for the Macaroons also on Magazine Street

8. Pat O's must try a Hurrican and Mint Julep but beware they are STRONG.

9. Last but not least Cafe Du Monde. You must get a beignet and coffee while there. Hint go way late at night because it is so crowded.

Next post I will recap the things we did and what we plan on doing next time!

Xoxo,

Kayla
